The focuss on profitmaking has left its mark on every aspect of Ferengi life. Since it reflects the very nature of the Ferengi themselves, it is the cornerstone of their culture.

In no other culture is the differences between the two sexes so pronounced as on Ferenginar. While the men are out and about in the never-ending pursuit of profit, the women are confined to their homes. They are rarely allowed to leave them, and if they do they are strictly prohibited from talking to strangers. They are not allowed to wear clothes (!!!) and a good Ferengi woman rarely utters a word - not even when she is alone with her husband.

But allthough the Ferengi prefer their own women to be docile, they very much appreciate the outgoingness of women of other races. They are great lovers of beauty and are quite partial to interracial affairs. Many a non-ferengi female has learned the art of earlobe-stimulation (the ear of a Ferengi is one of his most erogenous zones). Their sexual behavior in many ways reflects their view of life in general. A true Ferengi values all sensual pleasures wether it be female beauty, gambling (most casinos in the quadrant are owned by Ferengi), colourfull and exquisively textured clothing or food. Alien beverages and cuisine such as the Cardassian alchohol Kanaar and certain human dishes (squid ranking first) are among their favourites, but nothing is savoured as much as Ferengi home-cooking. The most common ferengi dish is tube-worms which must be eaten alive.

But when all is said and done nothing gives a Ferengi more pleasure than earning more gold-pressed latinum. The drive for profit is even the basis for their afterlife beliefs. A Ferengi believes that when he dies he will enter "The Divine Treasury" where he will meet "The Blessed Exchequer". Here an auction run by "The Celestrial Auctioneers" will allow him to bid on a new life. If he however has not earned enough latinum in life, he will end up in "The Vault of Eternal Destitution".
